GAMES : 'Dawn of War - Dark Crusade' and 'Dawn of War - SoulStorm'. UNSUPPORTED : 'Dawn of War' and 'Dawn of War - Winter Assault' You can play this map with these games but the map uses decals from DC that are not available in DoW+WA. For unknown reasons, Relic decided to print a pink, ugly and vast question mark on the surface of the map if a decal is missing in that place (instead of simply drawing nothing), so the map will look ass under those games. For legal reasons I cannot ship the decals with the map, sorry. The ugly pink boxes are missing map objects, same applies. DoW/DoW-WA FIX : Credits for this idea and the whm file go to jONES1979 at the relic forums. 1) You can remove these signs (globally for all maps) by placing the transparent file 'baddecal.tga' that comes with this map in the following location (simply delete it if you want the old behaviour back, e.g. for development purposes): * for DoW : \W40k\Data\Art\Decals\baddecal.tga * for DoW-WA : \WXP\Data\Art\Decals\baddecal.tga You may have to create the Art\Decals\ subdirectory manually. This simply replaces the ugly pink question marks with a transparent texture. :) 2) Next step is to remove the ugly pink boxes. Simply place the file 'missingmodel.whm' that comes with this map in the following location (again, simply delete it if you want the old behaviour back): * for DoW: \W40k\Data\art\ebps\missingmodel.whm * for DoW-WA: \DXP\Data\art\ebps\missingmodel.whm You may have to create the art\ebps\ subdirectory manually. This simply replaces the ugly pink boxes with an empty dummy model. GAME TYPE : 2vs2 Note: this is NOT a 4 player FFA map! The starting positions are grouped together so the players of one team can help each other - and you don't really wanna start withing sight range of the enemy I guess. Make teams as follows (obvious from looking at minimap preview but anyways): Player 1 | Player 3 | and | Team 1 and | Team 2 Player 2 | Player 4 | (Your player number is defined by your position in the list of the "Create MP/Skirmish Game" menu.) BASE : none (new map from scratch) RELEASE DATE : 26 apr 2010 STORY : After an Ion Storm, both you and the enemy are stranded on the threatening planet Nuam Phok. At first glance, the ancient temple ruins hidden deep inside the dark jungles seem to be the only remains of the powerful sorcerers who suddenly vanished thousands of years ago. But deep underneath the black shadows of the whispering trees, an even greater evil lies dormant. You better smash your enemies quickly to acquire the resources needed to leave this green hell - before it awakes... INSTALLATION AND HOW TO PLAY ============================= INSTALL: * Extract the file 'green_hell.zip' and place the files contained within that archive into the following folder: \DXP2\Data\Scenarios\MP\ and you're done. * Note: - replace with your 'Dawn of War - Dark Crusade' Directory, e.g. 'C:\games\dow-dark_crusade\' and/or with your 'Dawn of War - Soulstorm' Directory, e.g. 'C:\games\dow-soulstorm\'. - if this is the first custom map you install, the folder 'Scenarios\MP\' will NOT exist under 'DXP2\Data\'. You can then select the map from the in-game menu. It will be listed as 'Green Hell (4)' there.
