spirit2dm1 - Awaiting Resurrection


Awaiting Resurrection is a deathmatch map for 2 - 4 players. It's a very vertical map with one central atrium and the typical Quake II architecture and atmosphere. This was my first Quake 2 map and the lighting is far from perfect but the map plays great for small FFA games imo.

spirit2dm2 - The arms of Lilith (Quake II edition)


Quake 2 (Q2) version of a tourney map for q2w. This map was created for the 6th Quake II mapping contest at the Quake 2 Cafe. When the contest I built and tested the map with Quake2World (Q2W), then removed many of the details and other stuff that Quake 2 can't handle to get it to work with Q2 for the contest.

This is a good 1vs1 map for Q2, but it plays faster and looks a lot better in Q2W. You should really give the Q2W edition a try! You can find some screenies and a video of the map in the Quake2World maps section but lilith comes with the default installation of Quake2World so you should not download it from this website.

spirit2dm3 - Where Ares reigns


A rather ol' skool deathmatch map for 3 - 6 players deathmatch. I started this a long time ago, and finally finished it for the 10th mapping contest at the Quake 2 Cafe.

This map is set in an old industrial complex which has been damaged by lava in several areas.

spirit2dm4 - The Healer


A fast and brutal tourney map that uses the excellent Quake 2 stock textures. It has 2 YAs at opposite sides of the map and the MH in a dangerous spot high up in the central room. I built it in a few days, it's small and rather simple but I like it.

spirit2dm5 - Oceans apart


A duel map set in a dark and slightly futuristic base at night on some planet far away. It has rather high contrast lighting with many spotlights. I wanted to try another style of texturing with this one - less Q2 and more abstract - and chose the OblivionQ2 texture set (author unknown). The layout and gameplay also include some things I haven't done before. Altogether the map is still far from experimental though, I just took a short break from the usual style of my Q2 maps.

spirit2dm6 - Totality


This is an old-school Quake 2 tourney map that uses the stock textures by id software. I created some places with rather long line of sight so better get the RG asap. This map has very high connectivity, some fun jumps and lots of goodies to grab. I have already played many games on this map and I'm pretty happy with it. The screenies may not look so hot but I'm too lazy to make new ones atm so I'll just tell you that it plays great. I submitted this map to the 9th mapping contest at the Quake 2 Cafe and it placed 2nd out of 10 maps.

spirit2dm7 - The Deepest Fall


A new tourney map for a contest at Quake2Reloaded. With this map I wanted to emphasize gameplay elements that are more common in modern games like Q3A and QL: less tight corridors, more open areas with dramatic height differences and powerful jumppads that allow players to get to higher grounds quickly if they're willing to take the risk of being an easy target for a second or two. Since the height can easily be converted to speed this map plays very fast.

spirit2dm9 - The cake is a lie


A very vertical tourney map for the 10th mapping contest at the Quake 2 Cafe. Also suitable for small to medium deathmatch games, depending on how crowded you like it. Jumppads and teleporters give this one very high connectivity, so watch your back and listen to the sounds of other players carefully.

The theme is an abandoned temple on a distant planet. Textures by Hipshot, skybox by Lunaran.
