All these maps are pretty old, I haven't made a Q3A map in quite a while. If you want to play one of these try spirit3t3a or spirit3ctfduel1.

spirit3dm1 - Deathtrap


Deathtrap is a FFA map for 3 - 4 players. It's quite old and was my first attempt to build a q3a map as I'm sure you'll notice. The map was build to get used to the Radiant level editor and gameplay is very limited. Grab it only if you're looking for a simple FFA-only map. It's available here only because I don't want to delete it and I like the looks of the central room (beware: most other rooms suck). Don't judge me by this map.

spirit3t1 - Prejudice


Prejudice is a FFA and TDM (2vs2) map for the CPMA mod or vanilla Quake 3. It's very open and has many differnet paths you can travel through the ruins of an old and evil complex. Though the name suggests it was a tourney map this is not true. The map lacks vertical gameplay, has a boxy feeling and is a bit ugly. It's surprisingly fun to play 2vs2 games with a friend against good CPM bots though. The layout allows you to stick together easily, you can gain a lot of speed and it has many angled stones that allow for great ramp jumps and other shortcuts with promode physics.

spirit3t2 - Better off dead


An FFA or 4 player TDM map designed for CPMA (also playable in vq3 of course). Uses the e8 and mkoxide texture sets and includes some sweet CPM jumps. This map has some fun elements but also some cpm jumps that feel a bit gimmicky to me today. Texturing and lighting are questionable in a few spots.

Notes: a slightly modified version of this map has been included in the map-center OA mappack as mc-oa-dm05.

spirit3t3a - Terror Twilight II


This is a second release of spirit3t3 that has been improved for competetive gameplay with the help of a number of people over at promode.org.

It has even more clipping, improved connectivity and less teleporters. The RA area has been completely redesigned.

spirit3ctfduel1 - Where Fears Collide


This map was made to have a map that plays well with fewer player then most CTF maps are designed for (usually 4vs4/5vs5). The map was initially designed for the idea of a 1vs1 CFT mappack over at Q3W. It has evolved a bit and can handle more than 2 players though. I prefer 2vs2, but you have some real intense action at 3vs3. CPMA is recommended.

I was recently told that a modified version of this map comes with OpenArena as oa_spirit3.
